the single thing in your life that never runs out

a transitory

What is the single, material thing in your life that is constantly present that reminds you that you never lack of good things from the Lord?

Today, I dropped by in the National Book Store to find a marker. This morning, my favorite Stabilo had resigned after lining a hundred of pages in the Bible. After finding a purple marker, I stand in front of a Bible shelf hoping to find one that I can draw with. Yeah, I would like to make a Bible Journal with art and hand lettering especially today that I have finished reading almost a fourth of my Bible. I was drawn closer to beautiful stories and verses in it that I want to make art. Unfortunately, there’s none that fits my needs. Most Bibles I’ve seen have thin pages which are not good for Bible arts. Maybe, I will look in CCF Bookstore one of these days (well, I already did but there’s none).

My eyes fell in the thousands of books surrounding me… well I’ve never lack of books. God knows that I love them and He continually provides.

I never lack of clothes, too… God knows that I love dressing to draw attention to myself. Yikes! But still, He provides.

What else? What else? Hmmmm!

I remember that I never lack of cosmetics since I learned to use them during my elementary years. Honestly, I never remember a time when I ran out of something I can put on to my face for over thirty years in my life. I just knew that when I need one, the money just comes. Well, none of those work to cure my pimples and acne… son of a biscuit! Even so, God still continue to provide.

Because the truth my friend has nothing to do with my face, hah! The truth is…

God do provides! He provides both our needs and wants. He provides not only what is enough for us but more than enough. My facial toner and creams proves that He is indeed a generous God.

Remember Naomi and Ruth’s story? I have just finish that today. Wow! Both of these women in the Bible lost all that they got… their husbands, their properties, their families. But see how God works in them. Ruth found Boaz (the rich family redeemer) and bore a child from him who became a descendant of David. Then, Naomi found joy with their son. God can truly restore what we have lost according to His will!

So today, look around you. See what is that single consumable thing that you never runs out. That could be your perfume, or lipstick, or shampoo, make-up, cologne, chocolates, coffee etc. These are typically the things that you can’t  live without. A caprice!

Now, as you identify that thing pray… Give thanks to God! He never limits His provision. He will surely provide — large and small and He will never leave us nor forsake us during crises.

“The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing.” – Psalm 34:10
